The mug has a wide base and tapering sides which expand just below the rim. The top of the strap handle is at the narrowest point and its lower end just above the base. The front is decorated with a stylzied plant spray of two leaves and spire-lie flower flanked on each side by two greyish-blue curved stems. There is a broad iron-brown band round the rim with a narrow horizontal band below, and the outside of the handle is also brown.
