IDENTIFIERS ----------- id: 158343 accession number: O.36-1879 DATE AUDIT ---------- created: Saturday 6 August 2011 updated: Tuesday 25 February 2020 DESCRIPTIVE DATA ---------------- object type: Straight steel double edged triangular blade, of heavy diamond section at the point, slight wings at the base of the blade, decorated with recessed panels at the forte leaving a three proud ribs. The blade is attached through a moulded knop to a facetted socket with a double incised moulding at the base, and the line of a braised join down one side. The socket retains traces of silver koftgari decoration, probably lines along the facets, though most of this has been lost in cleaning. The knop at the base of the blade was originally silvered also. The surface is stained and a little pitted title: spearhead NOTES ----- type: history note value: From Ganjam.
