object type: The blade of steel is straight and double edged, with four deep V-shaped fullers at the forte, and a very heavy reinforced point. The hilt is formed of two long rectangular section bars joined by a grip formed of two bars of rounded square section, swelling to their centres, and by a concave bar attached to the blade. The hilt is covered in silver foil punched with a fine floral diaper. Much of the silvering is lost
