Stoneware, moulded, inlaid in black and white slip, and celadon glazed. This small flat box has on the cover an inlaid design in black and white slip in form of a six-pointed star with a chrysanthemum in the centre and others around it, enclosed by a petal border. Around the sides of both box and cover are bands of small rings and the underside of the box is decorated with a white zigzag-diaper border. The olive-green celadon glaze is evenly applied but full of bubbles.
