object type: Firing support. Clay disk with three recessed marks which supported spurs. The clay disk is a mixture of fire-clay (chomt'o) and body clay. It has three recessed marks on the upper side where it has supported quartzite spurs. It was used particularly in the manufacture of fine-quality celadon wares in the twelfth and thirteenth century.
