object type: Bottle with tortoise, deer and crane design. Porcelain, thrown, painted in cobalt-blue and glazed. This typical nineteenth-century wine bottle is painted in light underglaze blue with some of the `ten motifs of long life' (sipchangsaeng) including tortoise, deer and crane, pine tree, pulloch'o fungus, bamboo, rock and clouds. The glaze has a pale bluish tinge and is crackled at and around the base. Traces of fine fire-clay supports are remaining on  the footring.
