object type: Chalcedony, coral and gilt metal spoon. The oval bowl is carved from chalcedony and has a ridge down the centre back.  The long straight octagonal handle joins the bowl with an openwork gilt metal ferrule with a ropework knop.  The end of the handle is tipped with coral and a narrow band of pale green stone between two gilt and black enamelled bands.
