Oval. One side with an an oval glass-covered compartment containing a curl of dark auburn-brown hair, on cream silk, surrounded by an oval metal band and a zone of dark blue translucent enamel. The mount round the edge is inscribed 'Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal (Mrs D.G. Rossetti) February 1862./Given to S.C. Cockerell by W.M. Rossetti 22.October, 1919.'. The other side has a larger oval glass-covered compartment containing a curl of greyish-fair hair on cream silk. The mount round the edge is inscribed 'Jane Burden (Mrs William Morris) 1839-1914./Sent to S.C. Cockerell by Mrs Morris, 15 January, 1912.'. The outer edge of the mount is inscribed 'Two beautiful women the wives of two great poets.'
