Each formed of nine upward-overlapping lames of which the first and last are longer than the rest. The tasset is in each case of trapezoidal form, widening towards its lower end. It has a concave inner edge and a straight lower edge with rounded corners. The lames are connected to one another by modern brass-capped, round-headed, sliding-rivets at their outer ends and by modern internal leathers at their centres. The top lame is fitted with three modern, double-ended, tongued iron suspension-buckles. The lower edge of each tasset has a file-roped inward turn bordered by a raised rib, while its lateral edges have plain inward partial turns. The main and subsidiary edges of each tasset are decorated with bands of alternating scrolling foliage on a gilt ground. The decoration is a modern addition.
