object type: Kettle hat, of bronze. Formed in one piece with a rounded crown and a strongly downturned integral brim.  Each side of the brim is formed with two pleats that project as cusps at its edge.  The top of the crown and the front of the brim have broken away.  The broken edges of the crown have been trimmed in places.  Attached by three small rivets within the right side of the brim is a hinge for the attachment of a missing cheek-piece.  The corresponding hinge at the left side is now only represented by its rivets.
