object type: Warp:  brown and ivory wool.  Weft:  brown wool.  Sides: cords overcast with red wool.  Ends:  looped laterally, knotted and fringed.  Soumak technique, flat weave, weft wrapping.  Design:  Three large medallions arranged down the central axis with four smaller octagons on either side and a multitude of small motifs - obelisks, birds, dragons, figures, etc., all on a red ground.  The main border is of octagons containing hooked motifs, the outer border of repeated single hook motifs.
