object type: Cotton warp.   Cotton weft.   Wool pile.   Symmetric knot.
Flat weave on ends and sides, each edge turned under and attached to a blue cotton backing.  
Saddle slits and one end of rug faced with a purple braid (tablet weaving?) Mihrab, ivory ground with repeat, polychrome floral/boteh pattern enclosed in a zig-zag border.   
Spandrels and sides with bight red ground decorated with flower heads, flower pots and birds.   Triple band border.
