The die-cut lifts up to reveal a 'secret' message written in black ink by the sender: 'My home is / where thou art'. A motto is handwritten in blue ink in Dobbs's house-style at lower centre: 'A Token of fond Sincerity'. The interior of the card is inscribed in graphite with one illegible word, possibly a name.
