The jug stands on an applied circular foot with a pontil mark in the centre of the underside. There is an annular knop between the foot and the thistle-shaped body which has a lip opposite to the applied, tooled handle. The lower part of the body is pattern-moulded with swirling ribs, and there is fine trailed threading in a continuous spiral below the rim and lip.
