MOVEMENT: Full plate movement signed on slide plate around the regulating dial, 'T. WELDON 2552 LONDON.' Balance bridge with long feet, table pierced and engraved 'lace' edging, feet engraved. Steel balance. Pierced and engraved slide plate covering whole of the back plate, with 'lace' edge. Silver regulating dial engraved with Arabic figure 1 to 6. Pierced fusee iron post. Steel case bolt and spring, vertical pierced foot, nib through dial. Potance, with moulding at end of foot, screwed to top plate. Counter-potance riveted to top plate. Pillar plate with four square baluster shaped pillars. Fusee and chain, tangent set-up under barrel. Verge escapement. Train planted anti-clockwise. DIAL: Silver, outer frieze. 5 minute plaques with radial Arabic figures, arched 'ladder' minute ring, radial Roman chapters with gilt pins between (5 missing). Pierced recessed central plaque showing a lion rampant to the left, unicorn rampant to right and a crown under 12 o'clock above a curved plaque engraved 'WELDON'. Curved plaque above 6 o'clock with date aperture in centre, sides engraved 'LON' 'DON', silver disc behind. BRASS EDGE: Gilt brass, three feet, recess for calendar wheel under dial, scratched '2552', 'P Wlern' (?) and 'horne' (?) INNER CASE: Silver, plain, glass missing, London HM 1763. Maker's mark incuse 'WT' under a coronet.
