PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: trimmed miniature including corner medallions 193 x 130 mm (frame excluding medallions 183 x 123 mm), inlaid in a modern parchment leaf 363 x 264 mm SCRIPT: Gothic bookhand (textualis) Full-page miniature on gold ground with punched dots, with inner frame of alternate blue and red triangular and foliate ornament, highlighted in white, and outer frame of gold and tan outlined in black: Six vesica-shaped medallions depicting (from top to bottom and left to right) God clothing Adam and Eve, Adam digging and Eve spinning, Cain and Abel offering sacrifices, Cain killing Abel with jawbone, God with scroll inscribed U[BI] E[ST] FRA[TER] TU[US] VAG[US] & P[RO]FUG[US] rebuking Cain, and Lamech, armed with bow and arrow, killing Cain.
