SCRIPT: Gothic bookhand (textualis) 

CONTENTS:
Hours of the Cross, continuing on reverse.

DECORATION:
Large miniature, framed by marble pillars, with the opening words of the liturgical office inscribed beneath on white trompe-l’oeil scrolls: (recto) Hours of the Cross, Crucifixion with the Virgin and St John. Small miniature (verso) Hours of the Cross, Christ before Pilate.

ORNAMENTATION
Gold and silver initials on red and maroon grounds; gold and silver line-fillers on red and maroon grounds; one-sided borders in the outer margins, predominantly in gold and silver on red and silver grounds incorporating wild men, floral sprays and acanthus on text pages; rubrics in blue; capitals highlighted in yellow
