object type: A comic valentine on the theme of the crinoline. Hand-coloured woodcut on thin wove paper. A young woman with hooped skirts boards an Omnibus, showing her legs and drawers to the male conductor below. A printed verse has been cut out and pasted onto the image at lower centre: "Bedecked with gaudy Crinoline; / And 'tho you show your legs so smart / You never shall be my Sweetheart." It is not clear if this verse is original to the valentine or cut and pasted from elsewhere.
A periodical clipping about a 'breach of promise of marriage' has been cut-out and pasted onto the verso. See also P.14345-R-25 for a similar omnibus and crinoline-themed comic valentine. Found loose inside the front cover of album P.14345-R.
