A large 4to-size valentine with wide cameo-embossed border (as lace) with green ground and inner embossed 'lace' frame at the centre which surrounds a collage of coloured cut-paper leaves with lithographed and hand-coloured cut-paper passion flower. A hand-written verse in black ink around the centre: Dearest one oh! ?mite to me / Thy name consenting sign / On wings of love I'll fly to thee / My charming Valentine'. A watermark: 'VENABLES & CO. / 1846'. The interior is blank. One of six similar cards contained in album P.14414-R, two of which are watermarked with the date 1846. P.14414-R-17 and P.14414-R-18 are mounted into the album.
