A large 4to-size valentine with wide cameo-embossed border (as lace) with blue ground and inner embossed 'lace' frame at the centre which surrounds a collage of coloured cut-paper leaves with lithographed and hand-coloured cut-paper purple striped tulip flower. A hand-written verse in blue ink at upper and lower centre: 'If Heaven would grant my every wish / Not wealth or power would gain my prayer, / Ah! no I'd ask no greater bliss / than thou my lot thro' life to share'. P.14414-R-L4 uses the same verse. A watermark: 'VENABLES & CO. / 1846'. The interior is blank. One of six similar cards contained in album P.14414-R, two of which are watermarked with the date 1846. P.14414-R-17 and P.14414-R-18 are mounted into the album.
