Inside is a handwritten message: 'I / love you'. The writing materials are arranged over a collage of cut-paper, hand-coloured flowers, tulips and forget-me-nots with additional stencilling of leaves. The front paper is adhered to the back paper. Although a maker's stamp cannot be seen, this valentine is almost certainly by Henry Dobbs.
