A monochrome pen and ink drawing on white laid paper of a mountain rising up in the background with a valley below. A house in the middleground on the right and a low wall in the foreground. A title is handwritten (apparently in part Spanish translation) in pen and ink below: 'S.Michele della ChiĆ¹sa - La Sagra, near Susa'. The view appears to have been taken from the lower slope of St. Michel's Abbey on Mount Pirchiriano, situated on the south side of the Susa valley, in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Initials are written at lower left: 'T.G.E.'. The artist is unknown and probably relates to a former owner of the album. The paper is watermarked with a scallop shell. The verso is blank. title: drawing LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Paintings, Drawings and Prints creditline: Bequeathed by Dr J.
