A three case inro with four divisions, of standard shape. The roiro (black lacquer polished to a deep gloss) and kinpun (fine gold powder) ground is decorated in gold and silver togidashi (a hiramakie design is covered completely with lacquer and polished until the design reappears flush with the ground) with a circular roiro panel showing Toba the calligraphist riding his mule and wearing his large hat and the reverse is decorated with a bamboo grove. The risers and compartments are in silver lacquer and the shoulders and rims are fundame (matt gold).
