At upper left is a dedication within a cartouche with the City arms and insignia, pennants and cornucopia: 'A New Map of / LONDON / Most humbly Inscrib'd to the Rt. Wor / shipfull Sr. [Sir] Peter Delme, Kt. [Knight] & Aldermn. [Alderman] / of London. 1720. / Revised by Jno [John] Senex.'. The plan shows the layout of streets to the north, south, east and west of the River Thames, with public squares, churches, buildings and street-names marked. A numbered list of churches and public buildings in Westminster, London and Southwark are presented in tabulated form across the lower quarter of the map. The original engraver's name at lower right of the image: 'S. Parker Delin et Sculpt'. The printmaker's name along the lower edge of the sheet at the far left: 'E. Weller, Litho, Red Lion Square'.
