The original gold version was awarded by the Bishop to Bachelors of Arts in the University of Dublin annually as an encouragement to study the Greek language. This Bronze version is a later version, denoted by the addition of "G. B.", the Bishop's initials, in the exergue of the obverse. The makers name is also added to this version.
