Box, lacquer. Rectangular box with rounded corners, a seated lid (A), panelled sides and a tray (B) decorated all over in finely polished nashiji (shimmering spangles). The mikayeshi (inside of the lid) is decorated with two sprays of autumn grasses in gold and silver takamakie (high-relief sprinkled design). The tray is nashiji with a fundame (matt gold) rim. The interior and base are nashiji. Orange and red striped silk cover (C) with black silk lining and a firm base.
