object type: Merovingians, contemporary plated (copper-gilt) copy of tremissis, Dronrijp type, Frisian mint, mid-7th cent., with bust right (cf. MEC 1.518); dia. 15.5mm, 1.08g, with remains of a copper-alloy loop, which has been rivited to the coin at an arbitrary orientation (to display neither the bust nor the cross).  Found near King’s Lynn, Norfolk, 1999.
