The flower containers are two flattened ovoid buds with an opening at the top, supported by tubular stalks, flanked by two long pointed leaves, one with a kink near to its tip, rising from four anulets on top of a circular, straight-sided, hollow base. The pink buds are striped in dark pink, and each has two oval black spots, a black band round the mouth, and a black anulet at the top of the white stem. One stem is taller than the other. The dark yellow leaves have black stripes.
