object type: Soft-paste porcelain painted underglaze in bright blue. The glaze is very pale greenish-blue. Circular with shallow curved sides, standing on a footring. There is a faint incised circle underglaze on the base. The front is painted with a Chinese figure wearing a hat, standing beside a fence and plants with a butterfly (?) overhead. To the left of the figure a goose-like bird is perching on a table beside a tree. In the foreground on the edge of the saucer there is a stylised plant between tufts of grass.
