object type: A view of an equestrian statue of Louis XIV, showing the King in classical armour on horseback, holding the reins in left hand and with right arm extended. To the right, a workman can be seen carrying a large wooden beam, with two figures observing the scene in the background. Within a decorative frame, before all printed lettering but with handwritten inscription. The statue was relocated to the Place Louis le Grand (now the Place Vendome) in 1699. Another impression recorded in the Royal Collection RCIN 617067
