Rectangular. On the front and back sides of the pyramidal lid is a winged genii holding a scroll against a ground of foliage: the scroll on the front bears the letters IMOV, but the scroll on the back is decorated with four lozenges enclosing quatrefoils. The other two sides of the lid have purely decorative intarsia work of a Venetian pattern. The plaques on the sides of the body seem to tell a story derived from the literature of the Romance: on two sides are female figures carrying shields or scrolls, standing by trees.
