The figure is supported on a square base with four scroll feet, with a pierced rocaille motif between the front two, and a square aperture to take an attachment below the figure at the back. The girl stands between two tree stumps bearing leaves and applied flowers, with a basket of flowers on the ground on the viewer's left, and applied flowers and leaves across the front of the base. She stands on both feet, and turns her head to her left slightly. She holds a bird's nest containing two chicks in her left hand, and holds up her right hand close to the chicks. She has brown hair, and wears a puce hat with a yellow underside and gold edge. She has a flower tucked into the neck of a blue bodice with puce cuffs edged with gold, and a puce striped stomacher. Her petticoat is strewn with blue flowers with puce leaves, and with green spots. Her skirt, which is only visible at the back, is striped in yellow and puce. Her shoes are puce with yellow flowers on top. The base is picked out in green, puce, and gold.
