The roughly circular rocky base is concave underneath with a deeper depression under the figure, and glazed except for its flat edge. The cormorant stands on with its left leg extended and foot on the ground. Its right leg is higher up on the rock and only three toes are showing. Its wings are outstretched, and its head turned to its left.
