Composed of two slightly elongated circular elements with scalloped edges and one flat side in the centre, pierced by a wavy line of holes near the edges, and by a large circular hole in the centre and five smaller holes beneath the settings of the stones. Each element has a gold bar across the back surface to support it, and a raised bar through which to thread the belt. The two parts of the clasp are applied to the flat inner edges. The upper surface is decorated with mock granulation, and in the centre has a raised star in gold, over which is set the irregular cut crystal in its silver setting, thus forming a boss.
