object type: Pale buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides, the reverse appearing pinkish-cream. Painted in dark blue, yellowish-green, dark yellow, and dark manganese.
Circular with a flat centre and shallow sides moulded with dimples.
In the middle, framed by concentric blue bands of different widths and one dark yellow band, are the jugate busts of a young man and woman with groups of three dark manganese dots in the background. On the sides, there are blue, yellow and white egg or leaf motifs with green in the spaces; round the rim, a narrow blue band and a wider yellow band decorated with blue points.
