object type: Glazed steatite scarab with a figure or eight pattern at the bottom of the scarab base and a floral decoration of intertwined papyrus or lotus flowers at the top. The latter motif was widely used in the the form of both plants in the New Kingdom to represent Upper and Lower Egypt. The scarab is pierced lengthways.
