The official wears the shendyt kilt, which was strictly a royal garment until the Middle Kingdom. object type: Wooden statuettte of man, with triangular shendyt kilt, striding (left leg extended forwards). Right hand clenched with small hole, presumably for inserting an object, and left hand extended flat. Tenons at feet. Severe damage to figure, indicated by repair marks at right arm, right leg, and around waist. Large diagonal gouge cut into back of kilt, and small hole on left side of chest. Unusual appearance (especially with elongated hand), has prompted previous questions over authenticity.
