This object bears a 'glossy' surface near the base, however this would have originally covered the entire surface of the object. Loss of paint is visible across the surface of the object. There is damage to the edge of the object on the right side, where red paint was originally present (as seen on the opposite side). A vertical crack runs up the left side of the object. On the back of the knot, the wood appears to be mostly coated in a yellow pigment. title: Tyet (Knot of Isis) LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Antiquities STABLE URL ---------- url: https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/57327 CATEGORIES ------ category: ornamental element DATING ------ DIMENSIONS ---------- dimension: Height units: cm value: 21.7 dimension: Width units: cm value: 11.1
