object type: Cylindrical mug with up-tilted angular handle. The lower part of the body is moulded with broad vertical reeds, ‘tied’ at the top with four thin raised bands and another at the bottom. Towards the top of the body are three more thin bands, impressed with a roulette wheel. Each set carries a thin line of red enamel and between the two is a broad band of silver resist lustre decoration of fronds. The rim is dipped in silver lustre and the handle edged with lustre. The underside is flat and glazed, with a broad foot-rim.

value: Bought privately in Cambridge by Mr Morrell, in May 1905, for 10/- (ten shillings) for Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, Trinity College, Cambridge. According to vendor it had been in the family for 60 years.
