DESCRIPTIVE DATA

object type: Dark buff earthenware, thrown, with applied handle, tin-glazed dull white, and painted in blue. The jug has a bulbous body, a cylindrical neck, and a vertically-grooved handle, and stands on a low incurved foot.  The rim has a silver mount. The body is decorated with stylized flowers, foliage and fruit, with a border of slanting lines below the junction of the neck, which is decorated with false gadrooning.  The silver mount has indications of a hinge to attach a cover, and is decorated with a band of scrolling foliage.
