object type: Buff earthenware, tin-glazed greyish-white, and decorated with powdered manganese-purple, and painting in blue. Circular with curved sides, standing on a low foot with two holes pierced through it after glazing. The front has a manganese-purple ground with a central octagonal reserve surrounded by eight alternately hexagonal and fan-shaped reserves. The central reserve is decorated with bamboo and flowering plants, and the reserves on the sides with a winged insect in the hexagons and a flower in the others.
