object type: Tin-glazed earthenware, with a powdered manganese ground, and five reserves painted in blue. Circular, with a sloping rim, and shallow well. The central reserve encloses a shield bearing a figure of Apollo with Python, and in the four others there are 'mimosa' flowers and leaves. Below the shield is the place name and date 'Wincanton/1738'.
