DESCRIPTIVE DATA

object type: Jug with ovoid body tapering to a slightly projecting foot, with a concave neck, curved lip and angular handle. Decorated all over, over-glaze, on the outside of the body and neck with  silver resist-lustre decoration of stylised leaves and flowers, except for a round reserve panel on either side. The reserves contain similar transfer designs of a bird on a leafy bough, coloured with black, brown, red, blue, green and yellow enamels. The rim has been dipped in silver lustre and the handle is lustred down the outside, save for two reserved stripes. The underside is flat and glazed, with a raised foot-rim.
