A:
Shape: Fragment, with foot ring, base and section of a carinated lower body
Interior: Yellow surface colour produced by a cream slip coating under a yellow glaze, a splash of dark brown pigment in the centre of the base. On the base a four-part interlocking pattern of abstract floral and angular motifs over a background of scribbled spirals is framed by a deeply incised concentric circle.
Exterior: Undecorated yellow glaze thinly applied over a cream slip, pooling under the carination and running over onto the foot ring. The underside of the foot ring is unglazed.
B:
Shape: Fragment of a vessel with conical walls
Interior: Yellow glaze over a cream slip. The lower part of a group of incised calligraphy is visible, with small circles incised between selected uprights. Patches of green and brown pigment used to highlight selected areas.
Exterior: Plain undecorated yellow glaze over a thinly applied cream slip
C:
Shape: Fragment of a vessel, with part of upper body and flanged rim
Interior: Cream slip coating incised under a yellow glaze. The flanged rim is decorated with a band of scrolling vines and split palmettes over a background of scribbled spirals, while the upper body bears two six-pointed rosettes reserved on a circular carved background, each enclosed within an incised circle.
Exterior: A thin layer of yellow glaze applied over a thin cream slip, undecoratedC.18.8-19481accession numberC.18.8-194872657priref72657urihttps://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/72657https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/72657referenceagent-149638adlib-agent-1496387376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8The Fitzwilliam Museumreferenceagent-188980adlib-agent-188980d7197bb2-f5c3-363b-83ae-9f0f0388e3d2Farouk I University, Alexandria, Egypt194819481948unknownreferenceterm-132929adlib-term-13292967a1b9e2-93ed-3a1f-a76d-34ef2450160bKom el Dik, Alexandria, Egypt12501250CE1250circa1250139911399CE1399circa1399potterreferenceagent-149652adlib-agent-1496520d4f90dc-b166-3d4b-b0db-25f4118b6e98Unknownreferenceterm-128191adlib-term-128191b4ad695d-b5cb-3a82-a5ec-921fc9b700d513th Century, Late-14th Centuryreferenceterm-107870adlib-term-1078704e6e7a6c-6076-3260-bc72-1404368e4f3aliteralEgyptEgyptcountryEgyptreferenceterm-42861adlib-term-428615b368285-f1a8-3dcf-a5b2-637fd3c3956cearthenwarereferencemedia-37997adlib-media-37997aae6d5d0-6144-38ae-baa0-76134cb00afcjpegaa/aa14/C_18_8_1948.jpg1heightpixels550widthpixels76016162716419921imagejpegaa/aa14/mid_C_18_8_1948.jpg1heightpixels362widthpixels50016162716419921imagejpegaa/aa14/C_18_8_1948.jpg1heightpixels550widthpixels76016162716419921imagejpegaa/aa14/preview_C_18_8_1948.jpg1heightpixels181widthpixels25016162716419921image0media
