IDENTIFIERS ----------- id: 72811 accession number: C.1888 & A-1928 DATE AUDIT ---------- created: Saturday 6 August 2011 updated: Tuesday 14 October 2025 DESCRIPTIVE DATA ---------------- object type: ted earthenware thrown, with applied moulded feet and ornaments on the bowl, and applied C-scrolls on the cover, decorated with slip and painting in green and yellow. The cauldron-shaped bowl is supported on three moulded feet and below its slightly everted rim has three applied ornaments resembling croissant. On the domed cover there are four downward curving C-scrolls with smaller outward curling ones above supporting the pyramidal finial. Underneath it has a flange which fits inside the lower part. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with a lozenge shape outlined in cream slip and yellow over each foot, and three more in each of the spaces between them. The rest of the surface is spotted in white slip, and on the base there is a cream slip spiral. The scrolls on the cover are painted in green and yellow, and the border is encircled by two yellow bands with a row of spots between them.
