DESCRIPTIVE DATA

object type: Earthenware, mould made, incised and with applied decoration, coated in a brown glaze painted with blue, green, yellow, brown and red
Shape: hollow horse figure with collared legs, applied decoration forms mane, ears, eyes, rosette saddle and reins. A circular spout is present on the rear right flank, and another at the animal’s mouth, both indicative of the use of this object as a pouring vessel. 
Exterior: facial features are highlighted with over-glaze colours. An applied blue rosette on the chest is flanked by yellow circles, dotted with red, and with multicoloured vegetal decoration. The mane is incised with horizontal lines and painted with blue and brown. The applied reins and saddle are painted predominantly yellow and green; a yellow circle on one flank is matched on the opposite side with a circular spout. Glaze runs over the lower legs and feet, terminating unevenly.
