The reverse is undecorated. The lead-glaze has not entirely covered the left edges of the dish so that the slip and body are visible. The dish is circular with deep curved sides and a pie-crust edge, formed by impressing an oval tool or stick. In the middle, there is a circular frame of alternately ochre and dark brown triangles enclosing a cock strutting to the right.
