The reverse is undecorated. Circular with a wide, sloping rim, and well with deep curved sides and flat central area. The well is occupied by a vigorous rampant lion with five trefoil plant motifs and a wavy leaf in the spaces around it. The dark outlines of the lion and other motifs are 'jewelled' in cream slip.
