object type: Earthenware, tin-glazed dark blue overall. Painted in white. Helmet-shaped with fluted sides, scalloped rim, and projecting spout moulded on the underside with a grotesque human mask, loop handle in the shape of a dolphin with its head at the upper end, and circular foot rising in the middle to form a short stem with an annulet below its junction with the body.
The features of the mask and dolphin's head are picked out in white. The mask is surrounded by a U-shaped garland of delicate foliate scrolls and a similar garland encircles the foot.
