object type: Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on the front and painted in slate-blue, olive-green, yellow and manganese-purple and sponged in manganese, the reverse, slip-coated and lead-glazed. Circular with an everted edge, deeply sloping rim, and curved well, standing on a shallow footring. The well is decorated with a church and other buildings in in blue, yellow and manganese, flanked by sponged manganese trees, surrounded by three narrow blue concentric circles. The rim is encircled by a border comprising four oval panels filled with simple foliage alternating with pairs of manganese-purple scrolls. There are three spur marks in the well
